Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information in connection with the website slowspan.online. The responsible entity is Hidden Assets s.r.o., Blatnická 4219/4, Židenice, 628 00 Brno, Czech Republic, company registration 02402238, contactable at info@slowspan.online. Where this policy says "we", it means that company.

Information in connection with this site is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. The sections below follow those thirteen principles in order, so that you can see what each one means on a site like this one.

This policy covers slowspan.online and nothing else. The affiliate link on this site leads to https://goradar.xyz/a/G63NqSA23kfYrjy, and that destination, the game publisher behind it and any other site you reach from here operate under their own policies, which we neither write nor control.

APP 1 — Open and transparent management of personal information

This page is the whole of our policy and is linked from the footer of every page on the site. We keep what we handle to the smallest set we can: there is no form, no account, no newsletter and no tracking anywhere on slowspan.online. If you have a question about any of it, write to info@slowspan.online and you will get a reply from a person.

APP 2 — Anonymity and pseudonymity

You can read every page of this course without identifying yourself in any way. We ask for nothing and offer nothing to log in to. If you write to us, a pseudonymous email address is perfectly acceptable, with one practical exception: if you ask for access to information we hold about you or ask us to correct it, we may need enough detail to be confident the request is yours, which generally means writing from the address the correspondence was with.

APP 3 — Collection of solicited personal information

Two things, and only two things, exist.

(a) Server access logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary web server logs for each request: the IP address the request came from, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the user-agent string identifying browser and operating system. We do not ask for these and cannot run a website without them.

(b) Email you send us. If you write to info@slowspan.online, we receive your email address, your name if you give one, the content of your message and any attachment you choose to include.

(c) Nothing else. There is no contact form, no account, no sign-up, no progress saving, no quiz and no comment facility on this site. We set no cookies, use no web storage, load no web fonts, run no analytics, carry no advertising tags, and do no profiling or cross-site tracking. The pages make zero requests to any other server; everything they need is served from slowspan.online itself.

APP 4 — Dealing with unsolicited personal information

Sometimes an email contains more than the reply needs — a phone number, a home address, details about somebody else, an attachment we did not ask for. Where that information is not needed to answer you and it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we delete it. We never add it to any list, because no list exists.

APP 5 — Notification of the collection of personal information

This page is that notification, and it is linked from every footer on the site. In short: logs are kept by our hosting provider for security, abuse prevention and fault diagnosis; email is kept to reply to you; nothing is collected for any other purpose, and nothing is collected by anybody else through this site.

APP 6 — Use or disclosure of personal information

Access logs are used for keeping the site available and secure, investigating abuse, and diagnosing faults. Email is used to answer the message you sent and to deal with anything that follows from it. We do not use either for any other purpose. We never sell, rent, trade or share information with anyone for marketing, and there is nothing to share it for. We disclose information to authorities only where a law in force requires it of us.

APP 7 — Direct marketing

We do none. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no promotional email, no course reminder and no notification of any kind. If you write to us, you will receive a reply to your message and nothing further.

APP 8 — Cross-border disclosure of personal information

Two recipients exist, and no others: our hosting provider, which holds the server access logs, and our email service provider, which holds the mailbox. Both may store or process data on servers outside Australia, and the location may be outside Australia. The publisher itself is established in the Czech Republic, so correspondence is in practice read there. If you would prefer not to have your information handled outside Australia, the practical answer is not to email us, since reading this site requires nothing of you at all.

APP 9 — Adoption, use or disclosure of government related identifiers

This principle has no application here. We do not adopt, use or disclose any government related identifier, such as a tax file number, a Medicare number or a driver licence number. We have no reason to ask for one and you should never send one to us.

APP 10 — Quality of personal information

The only information we hold that could be inaccurate is what is in an email you sent us. If something in that correspondence is wrong and you would like it corrected, write to info@slowspan.online and we will correct it. Server logs are machine-generated records of requests and are not edited.

APP 11 — Security of personal information

The site is served over HTTPS. There is no database behind it, no stored form submission and no user accounts, which removes most of what would otherwise need protecting. The hosting account and the mailbox are accessible only to people working for Hidden Assets s.r.o., using individual credentials. We make no claim to any certification or security standard, because we hold none. Logs and email are destroyed at the end of the retention periods below.

APP 12 — Access to personal information

You may ask what we hold about you. Email info@slowspan.online with Privacy request in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request. We reply within 30 days. In practice the answer for most people is that we hold nothing, because they have never written to us and server logs are not searchable by person in any meaningful way.

APP 13 — Correction of personal information

You may ask us to correct information we hold about you, in the same way and with the same subject line. There is no charge, and we reply within 30 days. If we decide not to make a correction, we will tell you why in writing and you may ask us to attach a statement noting your view.

How long things are kept

Server access logs

30 days, after which they are deleted by our hosting provider in the ordinary course.

Email correspondence

24 months after the last message in the conversation, unless it is needed in connection with a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that matter ends.

Affiliate links and what happens when you click one

This site carries paid affiliate links to one game, as the Affiliate Disclosure explains. When you open one, you leave slowspan.online. From that point the game publisher and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the visit came from us, under their own privacy policies rather than this one. We receive commission reports from the network. Those reports are used only to check that payments are correct, and we neither seek nor want information in them that would identify an individual reader.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, write to info@slowspan.online with Privacy complaint in the subject line. We will acknowledge it and answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which explains the process at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.

Data breaches

If we become aware of unauthorised access to, or loss of, information connected with this site, we assess it promptly. Where serious harm to an individual is likely, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at people under 16. We collect nothing that would identify a child, and we have no accounts, no profiles and no facility that a young person could sign up to. Step 3 of the course discusses decisions an adult should make before a younger person plays a game of this kind.

If you are in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom

Hidden Assets s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the European data protection framework applies to it as well.

Legal bases. Server access logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the site available, secure and working correctly. Email is processed in order to respond to the enquiry you have sent us. We rely on consent for nothing, because there are no cookies and no tracking to consent to.

Your rights. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, exercisable by writing to info@slowspan.online. Where we process on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object to that processing.

Supervisory authority. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech data protection authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), at uoou.gov.cz, or with the supervisory authority in your own country of residence.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top is updated on the same day. Where a change is material — a new recipient, a new purpose, a different retention period — a note saying so appears at the top of this page for 30 days after the change.
